Customer Rating: Summary: Wash your F6 on a regular basis Comment: In order for the F6 monitors to work properly, the strap that you attach to your chest should be clean of sweat/body salts. I recommend washing it with cold water and a neutral soap and toothbrush. Be sure to scrub not the center of the hard part but the two extremes, specifically the back portion that touches your skin, that's where the electrodes are placed which are the ones that send the signal to the watch. If you use it on a daily basis, I recommend washing it once a week or at least after five uses. The sweat and body salts accumulated in the strap will cause inaccurate readings.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great HRM - better than the F4 Comment: I bought this HRM after owning the Polar F4 for about a year and a half. The F4 is not as nice in many ways. The problem I finally had was that the start/stop button cracked in half. The buttons on the F4 are plastic, where the buttons on the F6 (and other more expensive HRMs) are metal. I tried to contact Polar about having the button repaired, but they never got back to me. I almost bought the F6 the first time around, but I didn't think I needed all the functions. I wish I had bought it first. It isn't that much more. I like that the F6 stores up to 12 workouts because I don't always have time to log the information before my next workout. Also, being a triathlete, it is nice to be able to do multiple workouts and log them separately. I'm not thrilled with the Ownzone because you have to walk for a couple minutes for it to get an accurate zone, but it was fairly accurate when I actually did it (which was once). The band on the watch is more comfortable and nicer than the F6 (metal buckle instead of plastic). I have a very small wrist, and it fits me fine and doesn't really look that big.
The only thing I can think of that I don't like about it is that there is a lot to read in the manual, and I'm still trying to figure out how to get to certain functions. It isn't very intuitive in some ways, but I know I'll eventually figure out exactly how to get to everything. I can eventually find what I need if I push enough buttons. I also wish it had a lap button on the stopwatch, but most HRMs don't have one.
Overall, this is a great HRM. I've not had any trouble with either Polar I have owned as far as how well it works. You do have to make sure the sensors are moist. In the winter, mine will often dry out, then I'll get odd readings, but they all do that. I got a smaller transmitter strap this time, which I think has helped.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love, love, love this! Comment: This HRM was recommended to me by a trusted friend and she was right on the money! The device is easy to use, is very durable and works well for what I need.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just what I need Comment: Its a nice watch and very easy to use, just what I need, to count my calories and my week exercises.
Customer Rating: Summary: Totally reliable and easy to read. Comment: I use this monitor during kickboxing aerobics. I've been using it for months and have had no problems with it at all. The display is easy to read. You can switch between a timing screen, a target zone screen, and a calories burned screen with the push of a button. All three show you your heart rate consistently. The monitor also keeps a history log for you.
My favorite screen to watch is the calories burned. It keeps me working when I start to get tired. I set a goal for how many calories I want to burn that day and don't give up until I meet my goal. Extra motivation is always welcome.

The F6TM is the optimal choice for group exercisers like in-door cyclists. Coded transmission prevents crosstalk with other monitors so you'll get a personalized workout, even in a class environment. More than just a stylish model with 4 color options, the F6TM is an excellent exercise motivator. It includes all the features of the F4TM, plus guidance with OwnZone« to automatically establish your personal target heart rate zones and feedback with OwnCal« to track your calories and % of fat burned, making it a perfect exercise companion
