Customer Rating: Summary: Doesnt fit at all!!! Comment: So I bought this for my boyfriend because he would like to workout when hes in my apt, since he wouldnt be able to go to the gym. Once it came and we put it together, it didnt fit any of my door frames because the curved part of the bar is too long.... I dont know what kinfd of door the guy in the picture is using it on but it was def NO WHERE CLOSE TO fitting my doors..... so now he uses it just for the dips, but we were SO disappointed because the main reason he wanted it was for the pull-ups. The only reason i didnt send it back was because I didnt feel like going through the extra hassle.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice product Comment: If you want to do pull ups this thing works. Just make sure that you a door with a frame so that the hooks on top can latch on. I do pull-ups hanging out of my front door for all my neighbors to see because that is the only door in my apartment that has a frame.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pull Up Chin Up Push Up Sit Up Multi Function Bar Comment: This excerise bar is great except for the fact that the foam padding on the bar is not dense enough. Your hands hurt when grabing onto the foam places of the bar for any period of time. I solved that by using a pair of weight lifting gloves that I had, there padded. Now everything is perfect. Very sturdy but for 4" stud doorways only.
Customer Rating: Summary: ehhh, it works... after a fashion Comment: Well, the good news is this pull-up/chin-up bar works. I use it regularly. I like it and I'm glad I own it. I only hope that the manufacturer used good quality screws, as they have to support 180 lbs. ;)
The bad news is... the directions are abysmal. A simple sheet of paper with some rather vague exploded image of how all the parts are supposed to go together. They did include a "wrench" tool to help, but you will need at least another wrench or pliers to assemble this pull-up bar. What should have been a 5-minute assembly took almost a 1/2 hour.
Second, the manufacturer gives you only two setting to choose from when mounting this in a door frame. Unfortunately, in my very old home, the door frames were not a fit for either one of the two sizes the manufacturer allowed, so I had to drill my own set of mounting holes to fit my door way.
Also, the large plastic anchor pieces on either end of the bar (that make contact with your wall and help hold the bar in place) were not a tight fit at all. I had to use the "universal fix-all" (duct tape) to have them stay securely on the bar.
All in all, the bar does work fine, I like it's functionality, the grips are comfortable.
But I have to deduct points for the ambiguous directions, the lack of more sizing options for varying sized door frames, and the cheap plastic pieces which help secure the bar to your wall.
Customer Rating: Summary: Couldn't have asked for more Comment: Aside from arriving in perfect condition within the specified time range, this product is exactly what I needed.
Other models relied on manually securing the pull up bar with screws and/or some other type of assembly; usually resulting in damaging the door frame and risking possible fowl ups on my part.
This bar is nothing like that and can easily be set up, utilized, and taken down.
I recommend this HIGHLY to anyone that wants a pull up bar without the hassle of ruining your door frame or molding.
