Customer Rating: Summary: Schwinn Bike Comment: Good bike, reasonably easy to assemble - instructions are pretty clear. Only downside is the heart rate monitor doens't work very well, your hands have to be almost wet. Otherwise it works well.
Customer Rating: Summary: disappointed Comment: after 2 months the bike knocked so much i couldn't hear the radio. this is my first schwinn. i have had two other makes of recumbant bikes which each lasted about 1 year. it appears they are all throw aways except this was the worst.
Customer Rating: Summary: Recumbent Bike Comment: I bought this bike on the basis of the reviewers. It is extremely quiet but I am having leg pain afterwards, so I think I must be too short, 5'3"
Customer Rating: Summary: Worthless Comment: I received this bike weeks ago. At first it worked fine. Recently, the resistance level malfunctioned and would not decrease or adjust downward. Emails and calls to Schwinn were of little/no help. You are effectively on your own. So, now I have a $400 paperweight.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very happy! Comment: I bought this from Amazon because I was able to get it with free shipping. The model I originally planned to buy was one step down from this but I would have had to pick it up from the store and physically get it from my vehicle and into my house alone (I am a woman) or pay $70 delivery fee. I opted to spend the $20 extra and buy this model from Amazon and take advantage of the free delivery to my door.
This item arrived on time. I would have actually received it earlier if I had gotten the messages the delivery company had left me (my fault, not theirs). I would have received it in a very short time in that case. Either way, I am not unhappy with the shipping/delivery. The guy that delivered it said that he could deliver it to right inside the door of the house. But I declined and had him leave in on my porch and proceeded to bring the (heavy) box into my house alone. Not too bad to do by myself. Was feasible.
I then proceeded to assemble the bike by myself. It took at most an hour. And I only needed assistance at one point to put this together. And that would be the step of installing the post that the computer sits on, and also someone to hold the wires while I connected the computer (so that they would not fall down the tube I just attached). My young child held these things for me while I did the necessary steps.
I am extremely happy with this bike. It is very quiet. Comparable to the bikes I used at the gym (which is exactly what I was looking to find). Very comfortable (other than if I use it for too long my butt goes numb, but that's nothing new).
The heart rate handles are good but you have to use both hands to get a reading. You can't take one hand off and keep a reading.
The bottle holder is good but I do wish that it could accomodate a larger bottle (bigger around). But fits nicely with normal size bottles. It does expand some for a little bit larger.
The book/magazine rack is useless to me. It's too high up and don't see how anyone would realistically use it. For me, if I am going to read while on this, I'm going to just hold my book.
The computer area would be nice if it was slightly lower, but not a big deal either.
And the front handles to grab on in front of you are not very comfortable to use if you wanted to. Just a bit too far away in my opinion.
Overall, this bike has a few flaws, but I still love it!!!
