Summary: Not what was expected
Comment: I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my husband. In terms of functionality, the set works fine. As for the description -- it is an Ipex set (no problem with that for us) but extremely cheap looking. The case was covered in dust and EXTREMELY beat up when I received it. Deep scratches, the label was completely torn off the case and shoved in as if an aferthought, the top had cracks throughout... I was VERY disappointed in this, as like I said, this was a Christmas gift. The 'chrome' was scratched and peeling... overall, I was disgusted with the quality of this product and will NOT order anything from this line again. Before my husband opened this gift I felt the need to tell him it was brand new and not used, despite the shoddy appearance.
As a dumbbell it works fine, but the case and visual quality is so poor it's actually shocking.

Summary: Looks great and works great!
Comment: With the recent birth of my new daughter, I wanted to get back into shape, so she wouldn't think of me as "old fat Dad." Well, my loving wife got me this weight set, and I am very pleased with it. The kit consists of two dumbbell handles with collars (about 5 lbs. when put together), four 5 lb. weights, and four 2.5 lb. weights. The plates fit on the dumbbells quite easily, and the nut-like collars ensure that they won't fall off.
I am very happy with these weights. It is quick and easy to change the weight of each dumbbell, and when it is together, it stays together, rather than the plates rotating and threatening to unscrew the collars. Also, the plastic container holds the plates and handles nicely and when the pieces are stowed away, it makes a nice small package for storage.
I have had these weights for a year now, and am quite happy with them. If you or someone you know wants to do some light weightlifting to get back into shape, then I highly suggest that you get this set. Looks great and works great!

Comment: These are great dumbells, rubber coated hand grips wit locking screw-on collars. They only come with 15 pounds of wieght on each one but have room for lots more. I m very happy.

Comment: Amazon has the brand mislabeled as Apex, but it is Ipex. Cardboard box arrived spilt open and plastic carrying case was cracked--obviously it was never intended to hold so much weight. The rubber handles are very hard and already coming apart. The "chrome" paint is already peeling before even one use. Also, buyers should be aware that you can only increase the weight in 5lb increments, and if you plan on using both dumbbells at the same time, the maximum weight on each is 15lbs (If i would have thought about it, when I purchased it I would have realized both of these). Overall very poor quality. I will try to return.
